Cooper Group Holdings Ltd, the holding business of the UK’s premier independent port handling equipment provider, has formally announced its entry into Ireland with the formation of a new dedicated business Cooper Handling (Ireland) Ltd.
David Cooper, founder, and Executive Director of Cooper Handling commented “It is clear we need a physical presence in Ireland, and we debated if this presence should be an extension of our UK business or if we should commence wholly with our own entity. Whilst the former is simpler, we opted for the ‘both feet in’ approach and opted for formalising our own registered business in Ireland.” Cooper continued “The new business will commence with a Country Manager who will oversee all sales and after sales activities and we expect the business to flourish as a replica business model to that we have achieved in the UK”
The Cooper product portfolio already covers the distribution rights into Ireland so this means the market in Ireland will soon have more readily available Sany reachstackers, empty container handlers and material handlers, SveTruck heavy capacity forklifts from 10t to 80t capacity, Mantsinen hydraulic cranes from 70tonnes gvw to over 400 tonnes, Movella translifters and container movers, Telestack mobile conveyor, feeder hoppers and ship loading systems plus a range of spreaders, container frames, lashing cages and ancillary equipment from RAM spreaders and TEC containers.
Cooper in the UK have already built a foundation with which to work with unit sales into Ireland of Mantsinen hydraulic cranes, Movella container movers together with Sany ECH and Reach stackers either delivered or pending delivery. These machines are currently supported directly by Coopers and the customers themselves, but the presence of local factory-trained engineers serve to bolster the support structure yet further.
As David Cooper commented “This, we believe, represents a great opportunity as there appears no single existing solutions-based business who is as strong in supplying the break-bulk as they are dry-bulk commodity and container markets. This is the hole in the market we intend to fill.
The new business will commence trading in early 2023 and the Group intend making an announcement of appointment of a new Country Manager shortly
