Cooper Specialised Handling Ltd have been formally recognised as Sany Europe’s port equipment, ‘Dealer of the Year, 2019’ for its stellar performance in the UK market with the Sany range of laden reachstackers and empty container handlers. At the time of the award, the Company had secured business for 21 container handling units for the first 8 months of the year making it the most successful out of Sany’s growing European dealer presence. The award follows on from similar highest-dealer-performance awards from SMV covering the period from 2002 to 2004, and again from Konecranes covering the period 2004 to 2006 (when Coopers traded as SMV UK Ltd). More recently, Coopers were recognised as Mantsinen’s Dealer of the Year in 2017. In all instances, Coopers placed the UK as the highest performing country amongst each manufacturer’s approved distributor network.
This point was not lost on Cooper’s Executive Director, David Cooper who commented “We are naturally delighted by Sany’s recognition of our efforts to grow the Sany name across Europe however, to receive a 4th award from a principal supplier over a 15-year period, against a backdrop of manufacturing-led competitors and at times, challenging economic and market conditions suggest we are doing something right”. Cooper continued “Whilst this award recognises sales volume, it really is a recognition of the art of getting the basics right with strong customer retention whilst at the same time, growing the new Sany users – we still have a third of the year left so still hopefully can add some more units yet”
The period saw multiple machine supply contracts from a breadth of multiple machine supply contracts such as Maritime Transport Ltd and Goldstar Transport Ltd through to the UK’s largest port operator, Associated British Ports plc.
