Goldstar Transport takes Sany No 6

Goldstar Transport Ltd part of Turners (Soham) Group has taken delivery of their 6th Sany Reachstacker from Cooper Specialised Handling as part of an expansion of the Company’s off-dock container storage across the country.

Goldstar Transport was formed in 1998. Operating across 11 locations, the Company has an annual turnover in excess of £110 million and regularly handles over 1200 movements per day for a varied customer base from major shipping lines to smaller niche market operators. Having taken two Sany reachstackers as part of a 5-machine supply in 2015, the latest Sany machine is an additional resource for the busy Goldstar Woolpit container and logistics terminal located off the A14 in mid-Suffolk. The first two machines at Woolpit had operated at 4000 operating hours each year and have been relocated to a new operating site in Merseyside.

The machines specified by Goldstar are the Sany SRSC4531G, the most popular size of the Sany range which is capable of lifting 31-tonne laden containers in the 2nd row. Powered by a Volvo 11 litre engine with a Dana transmission and Kessler drive axle, the machine adopts a common drive-line throughout the industry which is complemented by Swedish origin Parker hydraulic pumps and German-sourced IMF electrics.

Chris Barnes, Sales Director for Cooper SH commented “Repeat business is always an excellent barometer of customer satisfaction both in terms of machine acceptance and after-sales service, so we are thrilled to play our part in this expansion” Chris continued “The Sany machines are not the cheapest but Goldstar have identified the merits of the machine in combination with Cooper’s support”

Derek Daly, General Manager- Fleet at Goldstar stated: “The Sany machines are an integral and important component in our logistics chain and we have been delighted with their reliability and performance”. Derek continued by stating” The operators are especially happy and have commented on the extra strength and stability relative to the machines operated previously”

The latest machine will benefit from a full service and support programme from Cooper’s experienced service team that keeps the terminals operating 24/7.
