For specialist lifting equipment operating across a host of intensive heavy industry applications, prompt spare parts support is vital to keeping machines working at peak performance and help maximise productivity.
At Cooper we know how important it is for customer machines to keep on delivering, day in, day out. That’s why we use the latest technology to ensure a reliable spare parts supply is available nationwide. Parts are sourced either from our central state-of-the-art facility in Manchester or direct from the factory, which means that 98% of parts arrive the next day.
Parts policy helps reduce machine downtime
Our aim is to pick the correct parts first time and we’re delighted to report that our picking rate is 98% accurate. To achieve and maintain these standards, we have invested £500,000 in four Kardex systems consisting of two shuttles and two carousels and a parts stock holding is valued at more than £15million at any given time.
The 4,058 sq ft warehouse holds in excess of 280,000 line items and stock levels increase regularly to keep up with customer demand. Where handling equipment is absolutely critical to the application, such as at a port or rail terminal, we offer unrivalled support. Our stock control policy is geared towards making sure we keep sufficient stock to cover any equipment operating under time critical conditions because in this way we can help to reduce machine downtime and the associated knock-on effect on productivity.
Supporting all makes of equipment
Servicing and maintenance is a vital, and expanding, part of the Cooper business. Since we hold key contracts with operators of heavy lifting equipment across diverse applications, our engineers work with brands we haven’t supplied as well as the machines ordered through Cooper Specialised Handling and Cooper Materials Handling.
During more than 25 years in the industry, we have acquired the knowhow to source parts for in excess of 95% of the brands currently in use. Thanks to well-established relationships with OEMs and parts distributors, plus ongoing investment to secure new supply chains, we are able to offer a ‘one stop’ parts service to meet the needs of customers and our own engineers.
Delivery to meet customer needs
With our courier service we can time deliveries to satisfy specific customer needs. Parts can be dispatched for same day delivery or to arrive before 9.00am, at 10.00am or before noon the next day and, in certain circumstances, we also offer a one-hour delivery slot. All orders can be tracked and, at the customer’s request, proof of delivery can be supplied electronically.
Our experienced parts team undergoes regular training to ensure a high level of product knowledge on all the equipment makes we support, and provides technical back up to our team of ISO qualified, highly skilled engineers working in the field.
