Visitors to IMHX 2013 should have no trouble finding the Cooper SH stand – centre stage will be a massive 45 tonne reach stacker holding a container high above the 252 sq metre stand.
The reach stacker is part of the Konecranes range of handling machines with capacities of up to 85 tonnes. The series caters for all manner of heavy industry requirements including ports, freight and automotive applications.
IMHX also presents the ideal opportunity for Cooper SH to showcase its new corporate identity following the recent acquisition of Samuk Lift Trucks. The subsequent re-organisation within the company has developed two distinct offerings to the market.
The specialised handling sector remains very much the previous business model, with the full range of heavy lift trucks and container handlers as supplied by Konecranes as well as the range of Mantsinen material handlers up to 200 tonne dead weight. The acquisition of Samuk has formed a new ‘general handling’ division, to be marketed through a national dealer network; the blend of both divisions provide the reach and specialisation that remain core principles for the company.
At IMHX, examples of both the general and specialised handling will be on display – there will be examples of both Samuk and Konecranes handlers and a video wall will showcase the Mantsinen equipment.
In a novel twist, Cooper SH is inviting guests to take part in a unique driving challenge with a timed practice lap for grid position followed by a six-minute race against eight other competitors on a fully equipped driving simulator.
