The Mantsinen 140 is the first portal machine of this size with turning wheels, which enables sideways movement and efficient use in limited space
Other manufacturers do not have an equivalent option available, says Mantsinen. Although aimed mainly at ship handling ports, it is also well-suited in pulp and steel mills in feeding operations and terminal works, says the company.
The 140 model, positioned between the 120 and 160 models, completes Mantsinen’s material handling offering, from the 60 through to the 300. “It is a natural step for clients looking for more tons per hour from their material handling machine without significantly bigger investment,” said Tapio Pirinen, Vice President of Material Handling Machinery at Mantsinen.
Mantsinen 140 offers notable competitive advantages. The machine is designed for long lifetime and it is efficient, safe and maintenance friendly. Undercarriage, power line and optional equipment are the same as in all the other Mantsinen material handling machines.
“The lifetime expectancy of the machine is in its own league, and it also has Hybrilift® that makes it up to 50% more energy efficient. For maintenance work, it has a machine room with a roof on top. Mantsinen Telematics System makes IoT a part of material handling; it transfers important machine and operational data to cloud service, including for example handled tons, hydraulic pressures, temperatures and electronic service follow-up”, Pirinen sums up.
“Typically, in the course of time clients go from a smaller machine to a bigger one when the efficiency demands grow. The new machine handles significantly more tons in an hour than a smaller machine. Thanks to our assembly plant in Rauma seaport, Finland, we can deliver fully assembled ready-to-use machine for the client on demand. This way the client can start working immediately when the machine arrives, and there are no operational disturbances at all.”
The 140M is the first rubber-tyred portal crane with turnable wheels. Mantsinen 140 machines have already been delivered and sold to several countries. All Mantsinen material handling machines are manufactured at Ylämylly factory in Finland. Mantsinen 140 was developed in just 1.5 years. The versatile product offering now has machines in all size ranges together with a large selection of attachments.
“Thanks to our assembly plant in Rauma seaport in Finland, we can deliver fully assembled ready-to-use machine for the client on demand,” Pirinen continued. “This way the client can start working immediately when the machine arrives, and there is no operational disturbance at all.”
